Winners of the Russian language contest in the Republic of Korea are announced
The Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Korea has hosted the annual awards ceremony for the winners of the 11th Contest in Russian among students of Korean universities.
The contest took place in an online format and marked the 200th anniversary of Fyodor Dostoevsky. 36 students from all over the Republic of Korea presented their works dedicated to the novels of the great Russian writer and the problems of translating literary works to the jury. Yoon Joo Hyun, a master's student from Chung-Ang University, was announced as the winner.
Sergey Andryushin, Deputy Rector for International Affairs of St Petersburg University, addressed the participants of the award ceremony via a video conferencing session.
He emphasised that the University attaches great importance to events aimed at promoting, supporting and strengthening the position of the Russian language, and promoting Russian science, culture and education abroad. The University, through its representative offices abroad, together with its foreign partners conducts national tests in Russian as a foreign language, actively promotes the Online School project, and holds online marathons for teachers and webinars in Russian as a foreign language. Anyone interested may take part in these events. Finally, Sergey Andryushin expressed his hopes for the future achievements of the contestants and their success in the study of Russian.
The contest in Russian among students of Korean universities has been held annually since 2011. It allows students to demonstrate their proficiency in the Russian language and their skills in conducting competent and consistent discussions on various topics.
